  • White’s bishop is under attack. Should white retreat the bishop or can white find a counter attack?

• Exercise 2)

  • White’s queen is under attack. Should white defend the queen or can white find a counter attack? (Clue: There is a beautiful checkmate in two moves.)

• Exercise 3)

  • White’s rook is under attack. Should white retreat the rook or can white find a counter attack? (Clue: White can capture black’s knights and bishop.)
