• In this lesson, you will learn ways/patterns on how to checkmate the opponent’s king using the king and the pawn.

• Exercise 1)
  • White to play and checkmate in two moves using the pawn. (Clue: Capturing an opponent’s free piece is not good all the time)

• Exercise 2)
  • White to play and checkmate in three moves using the pawn. (Clue: Capturing an opponent’s free piece is not good all the time.)

• Exercise 3)
  • White to play and checkmate in three moves using the pawn. (Clue: The pawn has an option to move one or two squares from its starting position.)
