Over The Board Unrated Scholastic Tournament

MYMChess will be hosting an in-person scholastic chess tournament in Open Swiss format in Great Neck – North Shore Hebrew Academy. (Special thanks to Mitchell H. for hosting)

Location:

• MYMChess @ North Shore Hebrew Academy
• This is the ELEMENTARY SCHOOL and NOT the High or Middle school of NSHA
  • 16 Cherry Ln, Great Neck, NY 11024

Details:

• All registration must be made online on our website. Register below.
• Please arrive 15-20 minutes before the 1st round for check-in. First round starts at 1:00PM. Your clock will start running once the round starts.
• Open to K-7 students and all levels.
• Registration close at Noon at the Saturday before the tournament.
• Clocks, Boards, chess pieces and scoresheet will be provided.
• Free Parking available at school parking lot or plenty of street parking.
• *Mask Optional – Please only attend if you do not have any covid symptoms.

SECTIONS:

• 2 sections
  • Section 1 – Grade 4-7
  • Section 2 – Grade K-3

Game Play:

• G15;d10
• Swiss System – 4 Rounds
• No byes given.
• Round start time
  • 1PM
  • Round 2 – Approx 1:45PM
  • Round 3 – Approx 2:30PM
  • Round 4 – Approx 3:15PM
  • Trophy Ceremony – Approx 4:00PM

FEE:

• $35 before April 17, $40 thereafter.

Prize:

• Trophy to 1st to 5th place in each section
• Medals to all others
• Team Trophy to top schools in each section
